Jamblr is an iOS app my friends and I created during Polyhack Fall 2018. The app utilises Spotify's Recommendations API within a swipe-based environment, presenting to users short previews of new songs based on their Spotify listening histories. All right-swiped songs are automatically added to new playlists in users' Spotify accounts, with previews being limited to 30-second chunks selected by the artists themselves. Our work won us the HubSpot Award at Polyhack, and we're continuing to update it with new features as often as we can. You can download the beta version of the app for free now and try it for yourself here.
Working on this application from start to deployment has been an extremely rewarding and iterative process. Below you will find a collection of mockups that are representative of the overall product as well as some key developmental steps from the design process :

I have always had a great appreciation for icons and graphics that complement the emotions invoked by their products. With Jamblr, we wanted to inspire in users a sense of playful curiosity, through the app's functionality as well as its visuals. In the mockups below, you'll find some of the graphical elements I designed from scratch :

When it came to designing the logo, I started with the idea of a visual portmanteau of the letter "J" and a musical note and started experimenting from there. We ended up branding the app with one of the more minimalistic variants :
